At some point during your adult life, you may take a shower at the same time each day. I think this article describes why you should as well.
In fact, you probably already have. But, what is it that makes taking a shower a ritual that is enjoyed by all?
You know the answer to that question and I’m sure it’s good for you and your family. It’s the happiness of taking a shower – for us here in the UK, we have the benefits of spring and summer, which are wonderful for taking a shower, particularly at night.
The reason for this comes from the enjoyment it gives us. By leaving us clean and tidy, it helps us relax and appreciate the evening.
People who take showers at the same time each day are more relaxed and happier than those who don’t. This is because taking a shower helps us in our quest to achieve what is known as the “perfectionist” syndrome.
As we all know, we’re constantly striving to be perfect in many areas of our lives – from studying, doing work, ensuring we stay healthy, as well as trying to achieve things that will make us happy in life, such as giving a speech or writing an essay. And we try to maintain that perfect state of mind for as long as possible.
As a result, taking a shower on a daily basis makes us feel happier and we find it easier to achieve the perfectionist state. It’s all about being aware that we’re making progress towards something and letting that be enough to make us happy.
However, when we become too perfectionist, we can actually sabotage our efforts and even damage our psyche by demanding perfection – that which is not always perfect. In other words, if we “settle” for that which is the best, we may find that we set ourselves up for failure.
In some cases, we may even decide, “This is the best we can do” and then set out to find out how much better we can get. When we reach a stage where we feel the need to set ourselves a goal, that’s when we will find that the goal has been compromised.
So, for those of you who choose to take a shower every day, the benefits are obvious. If you find yourself complaining about the water not being warm enough, or you want to try out the hydrotherapy system – these are just a few of the examples of what is associated with taking a shower.
It doesn’t matter if you take it frequently or infrequently, you will soon realize that you enjoy the feeling of relaxation that comes from taking a shower. Because it’s part of your routine, you find it easier to focus on achieving your goals and the end result will make you more comfortable.
If you would like to take a shower every day, there are certain products available that will help you to achieve that perfect spot and you can also change your habits to suit your lifestyle, rather than letting them be a daily ritual. I wish you well in your journey towards a happier you.
