The Virtue of Feeling Animals
When asked about what’s the virtue of feeling animals, many people are tempted to reply that it’s something innate in all of us. It’s not innate, though, because feelings are something that develops over time as we grow and develop along with our bodies. Feelings can be good and bad, and they can even have specific meanings that become embedded in our minds.
But what’s the virtue of feeling animals, then? To understand this, it helps to go back to the beginning.
As children, we usually don’t think twice about what’s worth what or important to us. We want certain things, and sometimes that means hurting other people or even animals. And we do it because we need the things to survive. Our systems for interpreting things happen to be one of the most primitive of our systems.
But, as we get older, those perceptions get skewed. We change, and our systems change with us. Sometimes, they can even fail us. Something about a small creature may turn us off, but it’s much easier to change those feelings than it is to change the brains that created them.
So, how do we resolve this? The first thing is to try and always use our brains to our advantage. We need to stay in control of our own minds. Letting our minds wander is always an easy mistake to make. It’s better to think about something than to worry about it.
It’s also important to be honest about the things that we want, instead of pretending that something is more important than it really is. Some things that we would call important are very important. If someone gets hurt, then you can’t really call something important; after all, no one actually gets hurt when we hurt animals.
If you’re honest with yourself, though, and think about why you want something, you can figure out why it’s important. This will help you control your emotions about it, and you’ll have less trouble relating to it in the future.
There are many ways that you can affect different animals. One of the ways that people work with animals is to work with them into their own work. Children often work with animals to do crafts. It’s a very relaxing way to spend time, and most of the animals enjoy the work that they do.
You can work with animals in your everyday life. For example, you might want to play a game of fetch with a dog. This will take time, but it’s important to let the dogs enjoy playing, and then, you can always bring them back later.
Thinking about the deeper aspects of yourself will often pay off. For example, you might notice that you feel sad, but you are trying to ignore that.
Then, you will start to see that there is something you’re doing, or that you are thinking, or that you are reacting to, that isn’t helping. It is a painful experience, but sometimes it’s worthwhile to look past all of that.
So, what’s the virtue of feeling animals? It’s going to take time to learn to use your brain to its advantage, but that’s part of what it’s going to take.
